Youth Camp at Summer Finale Week
To register or download an information flyer – go to our Home Page.
What is it? It’s a summer camp adventure where fun, friends and God come together. It’s created by Youth Ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine. This year, the Youth Events Summer Camp will happen along with a new community camp for all ages called Summer Finale Week.
Where will it be? On Lake Megunticook at Camp Bishopswood, which is in Hope, Maine, right near Camden. We’ll live in rustic cabins in the woods and eat in the lakeside dining hall.
What are the dates? August 21-27, 2017 – Monday afternoon to Sunday morning.
How much does it cost? $310….. Financial aid is also available so that no teen needs to be excluded because of inability to pay. To find out about financial aid, email us or ask your church.
Who can come? Anyone who has completed grades 6 through 12. There’ll be lots of teenagers from all around the state and beyond. And also there’ll be young adults, adults and clergy. Bishop Steve will visit on Tuesday or Wednesday.
What’s special for 11th and 12th graders? If you’ve completed grades 11 or 12 you can be a regular camper or apply for LLS (Leadership, Learning and Service). LLS begins on Sunday afternoon in Camden (not at camp!).
What are we going to do? Everything! (well, almost) You can choose activities like ultimate frisbee, duct tape wallets, kayaks, theatre games, swimming, music, beads & hemp, archery, slingshot zone, nature studies, fishing, capture the flag, and many more. We’ll sing, yell, have crazy contests, toast s’mores, worship, learn and just have fun. Camp will engage your spirit with authentic worship created by young adults. It will engage your brain with all kinds of new (and old) ideas about God in focus groups. Bring your fantastic ideas and burning questions. You’ll meet great new people and enjoy living in cabins and sitting around campfires.
Come prepared to have a great time!
