Bishop Celebration Overnight

Youth celebrating the Consecration of the 10th Bishop of Maine, and worshipping with the Presiding Bishop.

Overnight at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 138 York Street, Kennebunk

Join us for an evening of youth-led games and music.  On Saturday, we’ll celebrate the Consecration of Thomas J. Brown, and on Sunday, we will have the opportunity to worship with Presiding Bishop Michael Curry at the Temple in Ocean Park.  We’ll eat great food, make new friends, and have tons of fun.

 

Consecration – 8 Youth Tickets Available – Register by WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5

There are 8 tickets for 6th-12th grade youth for the Consecration.  All other youth will attend the viewing party in Kennebunk, where they’ll play Bishop BINGO and win prizes.  Youth attending the Consecration need to be available to gather at the Marginal Way Park-N-Ride in Portland at 9:45 am on Saturday, June 22.  Youth will be carpooled from there to the Consecration, and from the Consecration to Kennebunk after the service.  All youth interested in Consecration tickets must register by WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5 in order to be entered into the lottery for these tickets.

 

Answers to FAQs:

Cost: Registration is $18 for individuals or $65 for youth groups.  100% aid is available, just designate that when you register.

Registration deadline: There is no deadline to register for the overnight (but please do so sooner than later), but if you’d like to be entered into the lottery to attend the Consecration of Thomas J. Brown, you need to register by Wednesday, June 5.

When and where do we start and end?  Start time at St. David’s in Kennebunk is 11 am.  Pickup is noon on Sunday at The Ocean Park Temple, in Old Orchard Beach, where Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will be preaching that morning.

What should I bring? sleeping bag, pillow, mattress (optional), comfortable clothes, clothing for Sunday worship, a snack or dessert to contribute (no nuts or peanut butter). Optional: a $1-$5 party favor/grab bag item.

Don’t bring: money or anything valuable

Who can come? All youth in grades 6-12.  Feel free to invite your friends!
