The Triennial Episcopal Youth Event for High School Teens

What is the Episcopal Youth Event? Every three years, the Episcopal Church convenes an international youth event so “that the energy of the youth of the Episcopal Church can continue to be utilized in active ministry as members of the Body of Christ.”

Unite! ¡Unámonos! At EYE20, over 1,000 teens, leaders in the Episcopal Church, and young adult volunteers will gather at the University of Maryland, College Park to Unite! ¡Unámonos! as people on the Way of Love.  You’ll get to sleep in college dorms, be a part of HUGE worship, take tons of interesting workshops and meet Episcopalians from across the country and across the globe.  You will also get to tour and see the sites in Washington, DC.

Who can apply? Youth participants must be currently enrolled high school students in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. You must be a minimum of 15 years old by July 7, 2020. Adults may also apply.

When is EYE20? We’ll gather in Portland on Monday, July 6, travel to EYE on July 7, and return to Portland on Saturday, July 11.  For information about transportation to Portland, contact us.

What is the cost? The trip will cost $100 for participants.  The full cost of EYE20 will be around $500 ($200 registration fee that includes lodging and meals, plus travel expenses and sightseeing in DC), with the Diocese of Maine covering the rest of the cost.  Please talk to your priest, and ask how your parish might be able to support you. Scholarship money is available – please indicate your need on the EYE20 Application. (The Diocese will pay for adult chaperones.)

Applications are due JANUARY 1.  Why is the application so early? National registration opens in January, and EYE is expected to fill.  Applications coming soon.
